Susana Martinez

Susana Martinez is the Director at Daniels Fund. Susana was previously the 31st Governor of New Mexico from January 2011 to December 2018. Prior to their time as Governor, Martinez served as the District Attorney for the Third Judicial District in New Mexico, where they were elected to four consecutive terms.

Martinez has a long history of public service and commitment to their community. As Governor, they oversaw a more than $6 billion state budget and chaired the State Investment Council, managing more than $23 billion in state permanent funds. Susana also chaired the New Mexico Board of Finance and was a long-term executive committee member of the Republican Governors Association.

Martinez is a strong advocate for diversifying and growing the state’s economy, providing all students access to a high-quality education, and keeping New Mexico’s communities safe.

Susana Martinez received their Juris Doctorate in Criminal Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at El Paso.
