The Danish Institute for Human Rights is an independent state-funded institution. 

We are Denmark’s national human rights institution. We are also a national equality body in relation to race and ethnicity and gender. We also have a special role in the disability area where we promote and monitor the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.

In Denmark, we advise the government, the parliament, ministries and public authorities on human rights, among other things, when new legislation is suggested.

Internationally, we work with states, independent organizations and the corporate sector, enabling them to strengthen human rights in their respective countries.

The Communication and Engagement team at the Danish Institute for Human Rights is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to raise awareness and support for human rights issues. They manage media relations, create informative content, design impactful visuals, and facilitate public engagement to advocate for equality and the protection of human rights within Denmark and internationally. Additionally, the team collaborates with various stakeholders to amplify the institute's mission and influence policy discussions.
