Kristjan Strojan

Kristjan Strojan has extensive work experience in software engineering and leadership roles.

Kristjan is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Dataminr since 2022.

Before that, they worked at SMAP Energy from 2017 to 2022, starting as a Full Stack Engineer and later becoming a Technical Lead. At SMAP Energy, they worked on a data analytics platform, focusing on scaling the ability to process large datasets. Kristjan also designed and implemented advanced algorithms and processing pipelines for data extrapolation.

From 2012 to 2017, Kristjan was the CTO & Lead Engineer and a Board member at Fund 05 - Foundation for Social Investment. Kristjan engineered a system for managing investment portfolio and a web portal, while also co-managing the fund and investments.

Prior to that, they worked as the CTO at MONEO Institute from 2008 to 2017. Kristjan'sresponsibilities included running day-to-day business operations and developing data-driven web and desktop applications. Kristjan also helped social enterprises and organizations transform their businesses to be more data and technology driven.

In 2013, Kristjan served as the CEO & CTO at Društvo mladinski ceh (Youth Guild). During their tenure, they led the technical transformation of the organization and developed various internal management applications. This includes applications for managing people, projects, financials, and communications. Kristjan also developed an intelligence tool for monitoring competitors' activity on social networks.

Kristjan Strojan attended Gimnazija Želimlje from 2000 to 2004, where they did not pursue any specific field of study. Following this, from 2004 onwards, Strojan enrolled in the Faculty of Law with a focus on studying Law. From 2006 to 2011, they also attended the Conservatory for music and ballet in Ljubljana, specializing in Jazz/Jazz Studies.
