Janet is a Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at The NeuroLeadership Institute, a global research firm and cognitive science consultancy headquartered in NY, NY, where she helps senior leaders at some of the world’s leading corporations evolve diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to be more brain-friendly and human. Prior to joining NLI, she was Senior Director, Social Impact and The UPS Foundation, and primary speechwriter for UPS’s CEO and Executive Leadership Team. She is a TED speaker, member and faculty of the Professional Speechwriters Association, member of the Hoya Professional 30 Class of 2018, and former member of the advisory board of the Alliance Theatre. Janet majored in English at Davidson. A Samuel Henry Bell and NCNB Scholar at Davidson, she was president of the Black Student Coalition and primary author of Project ’87, a report highlighting desired changes to improve diversity and inclusion on campus. She holds a Master of Integrated Marketing Communications from Georgetown University, and graduate certificates in diversity and inclusion from Cornell and Yale. Janet has served Davidson as a founding member, past president, and member of the Leadership Committee of the Davidson Black Alumni Network (DBAN), member of the Commission on Race and Slavery, chair of the Black Alumni Reunion, member of the Board of Visitors, member of her 15th, 20th and 25th reunion committees, chair of her 30th reunion, Summer Sendoff host, Women’s Leadership Conference speaker, and student mentor.
