Sara Thomas Deshpande

Sara Thomas Deshpande is a seasoned venture capitalist and educator with extensive experience in the startup ecosystem. As a General Partner at Maven Ventures since June 2014, Sara focuses on seed-stage investments in tech companies that capture emerging consumer behaviors. Additionally, Sara serves as a Lecturer in Management at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, teaching an experiential entrepreneurship course. Sara has also made significant investments in companies such as Hello Heart, Wildtype, Carrot Fertility, and Daybreak Health, often serving as a Board Observer. Prior roles include advising startups, directing entrepreneurial services at The Idea Village, and managing healthcare strategy at Deloitte Consulting. Sara holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BSBA in Finance and Spanish from Xavier University.
