Dr. Amanda Shuman

Book Series Editor - Reris Studies In International Sport Relations at De Gruyter Brill

Dr. Amanda Shuman is a post-doc researcher and database programmer/admin at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau since August 2016, focusing on the Maoist Legacy Project. Currently serving as Book Series Editor for RERIS Studies in International Sport Relations at De Gruyter and Academic Editor for The International Journal of the History of Sport at Taylor & Francis Group, Dr. Shuman previously held a Fellow position at the International Institute for Asian Studies and conducted extensive dissertation research during a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship. Dr. Shuman earned a PhD in East Asian History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where the dissertation examined the political dimensions of socialist athletics in China from 1949 to 1966. Additional experience includes a quality assurance role at 6Wunderkinder and a web development position at George Mason University. Dr. Shuman holds multiple degrees in East Asian History, Information Technology, and Global Business from various esteemed institutions.
