Dug is a Founder Advisor at Decibel. As the co-founder and CEO of Duo Security, Dug led the company through its $2.35 billion acquisition by Cisco in 2018, making it one of the most successful security companies and the largest exit ever for a Michigan-based software company.
Dug is a renowned hacker and leading voice in the information security industry and prior to launching Duo, Dug spent seven years as founding Chief Security Architect at Arbor Networks, protecting 80 percent of the world’s Internet service providers. He also built the first commercial network anomaly detection system, acquired by Check Point Software Technologies.
Dug is heavily involved in mentorship and fostering entrepreneurship in Michigan. He is a founding member of Ann Arbor’s a2newtech and an active participant in Tech Brewery, a2skatepark and the Entrepreneurs' Foundation of Ann Arbor. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Michigan.
