Yvonne Butler

Yvonne Butler has over 30 years’ experience as a senior executive, international management consultant and independent director in both private and public sectors across Australia, Europe and Asia. Yvonne has a history of driving success in complex portfolio environments and is regarded as a thought leader in strategy execution, governance, program management and risk management.

Yvonne has worked in most industry sectors, but has specific expertise in Defence, Construction and Infrastructure, Pharmaceuticals and Wellbeing, Manufacturing and Professional Services.

She has worked for two of Australia’s largest commercial law firms (King Wood Mallesons and Allens), global consulting firm Ernst & Young in Business Consulting, Corporate Strategy & Transformation, New & Emerging Markets and Corporate Partnerships & Alliances, ASX listed projects, asset and facilities management organisation Transfield Services (now Broadspectrum) and Palladium Group, the global consulting practice of Harvard Professors Kaplan & Norton. Yvonne is the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Project Management, which is the peak body for project management in Australia and was Australian Delegate to the International Project Management Association where she had regional and global Board responsibilities.

Yvonne is a highly regarded thought leader, source of ideas and trusted advisor who helps organisations to deliver on their corporate and business objectives, monitor business performance and challenge the directors and management to consider options for improving the business. Her primary fields of expertise are Strategy Execution, Value Management, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Mergers & Acquisitions, New Market Development and Program management.

Yvonne currently sits on a number of Boards including being an appointee to BoardLinks facilitated by The Office for Women, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. A frequent public speaker, commentator and contributor locally and internationally, Yvonne has most recently been working with the OECD to input to the G20/OECD Corporate Governance guidelines. Committed to capability building, Yvonne is passionate about helping women to achieve their personal potential and driving organisational value creation through effective contributions at senior executive and Board levels. In her spare time, Yvonne is currently writing a book on strategy execution, governance and risk management.
