Nelson Alvarez

Nelson Alvarez has extensive experience in leadership and data analytics within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), serving as Deputy Chief of Staff and in dual roles as Deputy Chief Data & Analytics Officer. Alvarez supervises senior analysts and coordinates the implementation of data governance and strategic planning for DLA's data and analytics initiatives. Prior to DLA, Alvarez held various positions in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, including Senior Enlisted Leader and First Sergeant, and accumulated experience as a Senior Watch Officer with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. With a military background as a State Trooper and Cyberspace Operations NCO, Alvarez possesses a strong foundation in IT and cybersecurity, supported by multiple degrees in Information Technology Project Management and related fields from the University of Arkansas Grantham and the Community College of the Air Force.
