Kartik is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, maternal-fetal medicine specialist, and PhD epidemiologist. His research has focused on the intersection between medical comorbidities in pregnancy, including infectious diseases, diabetes, and psychiatric illness, and obstetrical complications, including postpartum hemorrhage and peripartum infection.
He is currently at The Ohio State University as an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Epidemiology. As a physician-scientist, Kartik’s overarching goal is to improve maternal and child outcomes for high-risk pregnancies using innovative approaches that integrate clinical trials, perinatal epidemiology, and precision medicine.
