Tom Mertens

Tom Mertens is an accomplished logistics and supply chain professional with extensive experience in operational management and optimization across various industries. Currently serving as the Distribution Center Director at Delhaize Belgium since March 2020, Tom previously held the position of Site Manager at DHL Supply Chain, where responsibilities included managing automotive and technology operations for major clients such as Volvo, BMW, and Sony. Prior roles include EMEA Warehousing, Packaging & Shipping Manager at Cabot Corporation, where Tom oversaw multiple production sites and drove operational excellence with a significant budget, and various positions at CEVA Logistics that focused on LEAN management and performance improvement. Tom began a career in logistics as a Logistics Engineer at General Motors, supporting warehouse operations. Tom holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende.
