Nekia Becerra

Nekia (Tharps) Becerra, Ph.D., currently serves as the Girls Who Game (GWG) Program Manager and Chief Education Innovation Strategist at Dell Technologies. Becerra has held various roles within the Austin Independent School District, including Director of Academics, Administrative Supervisor in the Office of Academics, and Assistant Principal. Earlier experience includes serving as an Elementary School Teacher at The University of Texas at Austin and a 4th Grade ESL Teacher within the Austin Independent School District. Becerra earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Southwestern University and is completing a Doctor of Philosophy in School Improvement at Texas State University, anticipated in December 2023.
