Mechanic

Summary Description

DeMaria is seeking a Mechanic to join our team! Responsible for machine and vehicle maintenance, inventory, and deliveries. Will report to the Yard Superintendent. Other responsibilities as required.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Follow all DeMaria processes and procedures as outlined in the corporate manual

• Ability to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment

• Assist with job starts

• Daily job site deliveries

• Diagnosing and fixing issues with fleet vehicles

• Fixing small engines

• Ordering parts

• Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

• At minimum chauffeur license required

• High School Graduate or GED

• Able to understand verbal and written instructions

• Familiar with fixing small engines such as trowel machines, generators, and vibrascreeds

• Familiar with diagnosing or fixing issues with fleet vehicles

• How to order the correct parts from vendors and websites

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction

• Must be alert, have good judgment, and be physically strong and in good health

• Profound knowledge of safe work practices

Physical Requirements:

• Able to handle demands of the job including heavy lifting, stooping, carrying, and bending

• Able to lift and manipulate objects 55-80 lbs.

• Able to perform work involving prolonged periods of standing, stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing

• Must have manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, and sense of balance

• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and movement of the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials

• Possible exposure to hazardous materials and fumes
