Alex Lyon

Alex Lyon is an experienced professional in government sector labor relations, currently serving as the Executive Director at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety since April 2017. Previous roles include Managing Director of Capability and Performance at the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development from April 2021 to March 2022, and involvement with the Service Priority Review Secretariat at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. With a solid foundation in public administration, Alex holds an Executive Masters of Public Administration from the Australian and New Zealand School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Political Science and Industrial Relations from The University of Western Australia. Additionally, Alex has held various positions including Manager at the Department of Commerce and Principal Adviser at the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection, as well as coordinating and lecturing in industrial relations at The University of Notre Dame Australia.
