Nicole McCartney holds a Bachelor's degree in Science from Murdoch University and possesses extensive experience in Aboriginal health policy and strategy. Currently serving as the Chief Aboriginal Health Adviser at the Victorian Department of Health since August 2019, McCartney previously held the role of Manager Reform and Strategy in the Aboriginal Policy and Coordination Unit at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA from August 2017 to July 2019. Prior to this, McCartney worked with WA Health in various positions from 2011 to 2017, including Manager System Capacity Building and Senior Policy Officer. McCartney's career began at the Australian Department of Health, where roles spanned from 1998 to 2011, including Program Manager and Executive Officer in the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
