Kristin Lems

Kristin Lems is a tenured Professor of ESL/Bilingual Education at National-Louis University, with extensive experience in teaching graduate courses related to language education, including Reading in English as a New Language and Assessment of English Language Learners. Lems has also worked as a music composer and performer through Carolsdatter Productions since 1993, and serves as an English Language Specialist for the U.S. Department of State, presenting on innovative teaching methods. Additionally, Lems has experience as a Fulbright Senior Specialist in Mongolia and co-directed the ESL STEM Success Grant through the Office of English Language Acquisition. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate of Education in Reading and Language from National-Louis University, an MATESL from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Creative Writing from the University of Michigan.
