Matthew Shailer is an experienced professional in international trade and energy policy, currently serving as an Action Officer and Energy Officer at the U.S. Department of State since July 2022. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as a Commercial Officer at the Advocacy Center within the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce from October 2021 to July 2022, and as a Trade Policy Officer for the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service from May 2019 to September 2021, focusing on South and Southeast Asia with a portfolio valued at $3 billion. Matthew's background includes significant positions at the City of Houston, including Director of Trade and International Affairs and Executive Director of the World Energy Cities Partnership, where a range of international projects and initiatives were managed.
