Yaswant Devarakonda

Yaswant Devarakonda currently serves as an AIP Fellow at the U.S. Department of State, beginning in October 2024. Prior to this role, Yaswant held the position of John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellow at the American Astronomical Society from April 2023 to September 2024. Academic experience includes serving as a Graduate Student at Texas A&M University from July 2018 to May 2023, a Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from September 2015 to May 2018, and a Research Assistant focused on high redshift galaxies. Internship experience includes a role at Nanohmics in 2017, where Yaswant worked on exoplanet detection through stellar echo imaging. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MS in Astronomy from Texas A&M University, as well as dual BS degrees in Astronomy and Physics from The University of Texas at Austin.
