Nushrat Rahman

Nushrat Rahman is an experienced journalist currently serving as a reporter for the Detroit Free Press, focusing on key economic mobility issues such as housing, water affordability, food insecurity, and unemployment. Prior to this role, Nushrat worked as a freelance writer and researcher, with contributions to Hour Detroit Magazine, Model D, and Tostada Magazine, while also serving as a researcher for an investigative journalist. Nushrat's experience includes being a contributor for The New York Times' The Edit newsletter, a research and writing intern at The Family & Youth Institute, and an editorial intern at Hour Media. Nushrat holds a Master of Science from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a degree in Honors English and Sociology from Wayne State University.
