Costel Ion

Costel Ion is an experienced professional in the field of cybercrime and enforcement, currently serving as the Regional Head for Germany and EMEA at Deutsche Bank since August 2017, leading internal investigations with significant impact. Previously, Costel held multiple roles at INTERPOL from January 2014 to July 2017, including Digital Crime Officer focusing on cyber research, strategy and outreach, and digital forensics, coordinating research on emerging technologies and supporting member countries in crimeware analysis. Prior to INTERPOL, Costel led the Regional Cybercrime Service and conducted investigations at the Brigade for Countering Organized Criminality from July 2002 to December 2013. Costel holds a Master's Degree in Combatting Organized Criminality, a Postgraduate Certificate in Criminal Law, and a Bachelor's Degree in Law from "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" Police Academy, complemented by a high school education from "Constantin Brancoveanu" Police High School.
