Jackson Mutua

Jackson Mutua is a Kenyan accountant and business executive who currently serves as the Director at Development Bank of Kenya. Jackson has over 20 years of experience in finance and administration, having served in various managerial positions at companies such as Eveready East Africa Ltd, Karirana Estates Ltd, and Bestfoods International Kenya Ltd.

Jackson Mutua began their career in 1996 as an accountant at TransAmi Kenya Ltd. Jackson then moved to Bestfoods International Kenya Ltd in 1998, where they served as a management accountant for four years. In 2002, they joined Karirana Estates Ltd as the Finance and Administration Manager. Jackson held this position for five years before joining Eveready East Africa Ltd as the Head of Finance in 2007.

At Eveready East Africa Ltd, Jackson Mutua was responsible for financial reporting and control, cost management, working capital management, business decision support, and budgeting and strategy. During their time at the company, they successfully reduced the level of borrowing from Ksh 500 million to Ksh 250 million in just one and a half years. Jackson also managed to reduce overheads by amending the articles of association to save on shareholder related expenses and outsourcing non-core functions, resulting in savings of more than Ksh 30 million per year.

In 2011, Jackson Mutua left Eveready East Africa Ltd to join Development Bank of Kenya as the Director. In this role, they are responsible for the overall operation and performance of the bank.

Jackson Mutua has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi in Strategic management. Jackson also has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi in Accounting.
