Sean Casey

Sean Casey, a 12-year Major League first baseman, three-time National League All-Star and current MLB Network analyst is joining Diamond Kinetics in a player advisory role.

As a member of the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, and Boston Red Sox, Casey batted .302 with 130 home runs and 735 RBI over the course of his career, spanning 1997 – 2008.

During his stint with the Reds, he finished in the Top 10 in batting average in the National League three times, including a career-high average of .332 in 1999. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2012.

Overall, Casey had six seasons in which he hit better than .300 during the regular season, while batting .410 (16-for-39) with 3 runs, 2 home runs and 9 RBI in 12 postseason games.

Known as “The Mayor,” Casey is one of baseball’s most outgoing and likeable players. He was voted “Friendliest Player in Baseball” by his fellow players in a May 2007 Sports Illustrated poll.

Moreover, Casey has received many honors for his service to the community, including the Hutch Award in 1999, given annually to an active MLB player who “best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire” of former player and manager Fred Hutchinson, by persevering through adversity.

Today, Casey is invested in supporting children and adults with special needs through his foundation Casey’s Clubhouse and the Miracle League of the South Hills.

Located in his backyard of Upper St. Clair, PA, – a suburb of Pittsburgh – he along with the help of many others has raised over $1 million to build the Miracle League of the South Hills field where children of all abilities can be a part of a team and play the great game of baseball.
