Sonal Sharma

Sonal Sharma is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in operations, risk management, and compliance across several prominent financial institutions. Currently serving as a BT Operations & Strategy Executive at Discover Financial Services since December 2023, Sonal previously held the position of Global Head Risk & Compliance at PayPal in 2023 and Senior Vice President of Operations at Wintrust Financial Corporation from 2020 to 2023. With a career spanning from 2004 to 2019 at HSBC, Sonal progressed through various leadership roles, including Head of HOST Risk & Compliance and Global Transformation Head. Earlier experience includes serving as Deputy CRO and Head of Risk Management at a Lending startup and as Operations & Service Delivery Leader at American Express from 2002 to 2004.
