Jonathan Bass

Jonathan Bass is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across the technology sector. Currently serving in an engineering capacity at Distill since July 2024, Jonathan is focused on full-stack development and exploring LLMs with colleagues. Prior to this, Jonathan co-founded and led Sym as CEO from November 2019 to July 2024, where the company improved access management practices for teams. At Cyft Inc, from October 2016 to November 2019, Jonathan was VP of Engineering, specializing in machine learning pipelines for healthcare. Jonathan's experience also includes engineering management roles at Localytics and PTC, where responsibilities ranged from scaling cloud infrastructure to overseeing global teams on significant projects. Jonathan began a career in technology in a foundational role as a Technology Fellow at PTC, contributing to the architecture of enterprise applications. Jonathan holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Chicago.
