Peggy Eckert has extensive experience in child and youth development, currently serving as the head of Deutsche Kinder- und Jugendstiftung Sachsen, overseeing various programs focused on democracy education and engagement among youth. Since joining Deutsche Kinder- und Jugendstiftung GmbH in October 2013, Peggy has led initiatives such as the "Demokratie in Kinderhand" program, which advocates for early democratic participation, and the "Kompetenznetzwerk Demokratiebildung im Jugendalter," which fosters collaboration among educational institutions to enhance democracy education. Peggy has also directed analyses on ecological volunteer services in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for the Environment and spearheaded projects aimed at improving volunteer service conditions to encourage youth engagement regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. Prior roles include project management and marketing at SPIESSER GmbH and a publishing position at SELLWERK Sachsen. Peggy holds a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Sciences from Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal and a Master's degree in Childhood Research, Counseling, and Education from Technische Universität Dresden.
