David A. Johnson

David A. Johnson, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology at the Eastern Virginia School of Medicine in Norfolk. He has special interest in endoscopic and pharmacologic therapies for GERD. He has authored more than 250 publications and is co-editor of the American College of Physicians textbook Dyspepsia. He serves on several national and state society committees and is a past President of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Johnson reviewed research on the esophagus for NEJM Journal Watch Gastroenterology from the publication's launch in 2000 until 2018.
