Brian Surratt

Brian Surratt has over 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on SOAP-based interfaces for system integration. Brian is currently the Director at DESC, and was previously a Senior Software Engineer at McKesson, where they led the development of several interfaces for the company's pharmacy automation system.

During their time at McKesson, Brian was responsible for supporting customer and third-party developers in the implementation of the interfaces, including documentation, education, and integration testing. Brian also designed, developed, enhanced, maintained, and provided production support for SOAP-based interfaces and related components of the client, server, and database. In addition, Brian worked closely with business and quality teams during all phases of product development, and played a leadership role in the integration of new developers to the team.

Some of Brian's notable achievements include spearheading the technical improvement of the application as part of an executive-sponsored committee, helping to define and roll out a unit testing strategy for the development team, and specifying the requirements for and developing a proof of concept for a custom integration testing framework for server-side code. Brian has also supported the configuration management team in technical practices.

Brian Surratt earned a BS in Computer Science from Penn State University and a High School Diploma in Academics and General from Dallastown Area High School.
