Dato’ Ibrahim Taib (“Ibrahim”) holds a Bachelor of Laws LLB. (Honours) Degree from the University of Malaya and a Master of Laws from the University of London.
He started his career in the judicial service in 1978 as a Magistrate in the Magistrate Court, Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur, and subsequently in Segamat, Johor. In 1982, he became a Legal Advisor with the Road Transport Department and continued in the same role in the Ministry of Human Resources in 1986.
In October 1989, he was attached to the Attorney-General Chambers as a Deputy Public Prosecutor for Selangor. In 1992, he served as a Judge in the Sessions Court, Kota Bharu before he was posted to the Employees Provident Fund (“EPF”) in July 1992. He retired as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations) of EPF on 4 October 2014 and remained as a nominee Director of EPF in DRB-HICOM Berhad until 26 May 2017 and was re-designated as an independent non-executive director of the Company on 30 May 2017. He is currently a Board Member of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad.
