A founding partner at Lightspeed, Barry is a Silicon Valley pioneer. He attended undergrad at UCLA, and earned an MBA at Stanford. Initially he worked in M&A at Cisco Systems, and later joined Weiss, Peck & Greer as a partner. In 1999, Barry founded Lightspeed with Christopher Schaepe, Ravi Mhatre, and Peter Nieh. Barry specializes in information technology infrastructure with a focus on analytic platforms, cloud, IoT, networking, and emerging infrastructure. He has fostered strong relationships throughout the valley, which are just as important as big ideas when building great companies. He focuses on providing leverage to entrepreneurs rather than creating overhead. Barry currently serves as Chair of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) Board of Directors.
