Peter Carbonaro

Peter Carbonaro is an accomplished law enforcement professional with extensive experience in narcotics and violent crimes investigations. Currently serving as a CMPD/DEA HIDTA Federal Narcotics Task Force Officer/Detective with the Drug Enforcement Administration since September 2024, Peter focuses on large-scale drug trafficking organizations in Charlotte, NC. Prior to this role, Peter worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as a CMPD/ATF Federal Task Force Officer, investigating violent armed drug trafficking organizations from June 2018 to November 2024. Peter's career includes serving as a detective in the Special Investigations Bureau Covert Operations Division at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department from August 2007 to June 2018, as well as experience in various investigative roles with private firms. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from St. John's University and an Associate's degree from the State University of New York at Farmingdale.
