Michael Ventrice

Michael Ventrice is a Senior Quantitative Meteorologist at DRW since March 2021, focusing on weather risk quantification in natural gas and commodity markets, while also serving as a Meteorological Software Engineer. As a Co-Founder of Sports Weather Analytics Group, Ventrice quantifies weather-related risks affecting professional and collegiate sports, initially concentrating on Fantasy Football. Serving on the AMS Board for Private Sector Meteorologists since February 2013, Ventrice mentors students interested in the private sector and chairs initiatives to promote career opportunities in meteorology. Previous roles include Meteorological Scientist/Software Engineer at The Weather Company, Graduate Research Assistant where Ventrice earned a PhD in tropical meteorology, and various positions with NASA, Citadel Investment Group, NOAA, and University at Albany. Ventrice holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from the University at Albany.
