Ken Brown is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University since January 2018, specializing in quantum computation, quantum error correction, ion trap quantum devices, and cold molecular ions. Additionally, Ken has served as a Member of the Board of Advisors and Consultant at IonQ Inc. since November 2016. Prior to these roles, Ken was an Associate Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology from January 2007 to December 2017, where research focused on quantum error correction, ion trap quantum computation, and cold molecular ions, as well as developing courses in quantum information and public policy-related chemistry. Ken's academic journey included a postdoc in Isaac Chuang's group at MIT from June 2003 to August 2006, studying quantum information with NMR and ion traps, and Ken obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003, following a BS in Chemistry from the University of Puget Sound in 1998.
