Rafael Dix-Carneiro is a distinguished academic in the field of economics, currently serving as a Full Professor of Economics at Duke University since July 2013, after progressing through the ranks from Assistant to Associate Professor. Concurrently, Rafael serves as a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research since May 2017. Previous academic roles include Visiting Professor at the University of Zurich and Visiting Assistant Professor at Yale University. Rafael's early career involved positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, and several internships and consulting roles with prominent institutions such as the Federal Reserve Board, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and The World Bank. Rafael holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton University, an MSc in Mathematics from IMPA, and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
