Olivier Pietquin

Olivier Pietquin serves as the Visiting Faculty - AI Research Director at the Earth Species Project since September 2023 and holds a professorship at Université de Lille Sciences et Technologies - CRIStAL Lab since October 2013, currently on leave. Previously, Olivier Pietquin was the Research Lead at Google DeepMind and Google, with roles extending from May 2023 to December 2023 and February 2018 to December 2023, respectively. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Reinforcement Learning and Interaction Research at Cohere (December 2023 to December 2024), and as a Professor "Chargé de Cours" at École Polytechnique (November 2017 - August 2019). Olivier Pietquin’s academic background includes a PhD in Applied Science from Faculté Polytechnique de Mons, as well as an Habilitation à Diriger des Recherche in Computer Science from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III. Other notable positions include Fellow at Institut universitaire de France, Research Scientist at DeepMind, and Full Member - CS coordinator at UMI GT - CNRS.
