Our Institutional Sales & Trading team focuses on small and mid-cap companies, catering to institutional investors in North America and abroad. Serving a full spectrum of institutional investors, our Institutional Sales Team employs a research-driven sales philosophy. We have deep sector experience in the mining, energy, cannabis, real estate, technology, health care and diversified sectors. We emphasize building and maintaining strong relationships with management teams, conducting non-deal roadshows, and hosting industry-specific conferences to efficiently share in-depth information and investment perspectives.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Head of Institutional Sales and Trading, we are seeking an Intern to join our Institutional Sales and Trading team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will help support the Institutional Sales and Trading team with a range of duties and projects related to the equities business unit. The ideal candidate will be a thought-leader, a builder, an excellent communicator and team-oriented individual while delivering exceptional administrative and client service.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the team to provide ideas and research to institutional investors and family offices
  • Interface with our research analysts in order to maximize market share and commissions and provide market feedback to improve the relevance and quality of the research product
  • Build and cover client accounts
  • Leverage research products and increase visibility of the equity research team through analyst marketing
  • Assist in the organization of client events and corporate roadshows

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in Finance, with an expected graduation date of 2026.
  • High working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
  • Strong work ethic and be a positive team-player – trustworthy, capable, and reliable.
