Matt Mastracci

Matt Mastracci is a highly experienced software engineer with a diverse background spanning over two decades. Currently a Staff Software Engineer at EdgeDB, Mastracci focuses on enhancing performance by migrating networking and state management from Python asyncio/uvloop to Tokio/Rust. Previously, at Deno, Mastracci contributed as a Staff Engineer on a modern JavaScript runtime. Experience includes roles in software security at L3Harris Technologies and leading mobile engineering at FullStory, where Mastracci developed a sophisticated digital analytics framework. Early career highlights include founding and serving as CTO for Gri.pe/Chee.rs and DotSpots, as well as impactful development work at Nickelodeon and StumbleUpon.
