Sonya Powers

Sonya Powers currently serves as the Director of Psychometrics at Edmentum, a position held since March 2022. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Research Associate at WestEd and Senior Research Psychometrician at RTI International, following a tenure as Principal Research Scientist at ACT. Sonya's expertise encompasses designing and implementing psychometric research for various educational products, conducting operational research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality and stakeholder communication. Prior to these roles, Sonya was a Senior Psychometrician at Pearson - Assessment & Instruction, leading psychometric projects and engaging in activities such as statistical analysis and technical documentation development. Sonya earned a Ph.D. in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona.
