Tina Faiz loves a good story and loves to tell it even more. She is a national best-selling author, Partner, and Principal Strategist at Big Pixel Creative, where she advises organizations on strategy and communications for the public good. She has more than 20 years of diverse leadership experience in government, post-secondary, media, and private sector—most recently as Press Secretary and Acting Chief of Staff in the Alberta government. She applies that experience to help decision-makers articulate a vision, develop strategic plans, build coalitions, engage the public, and tell rich stories that lead to positive social change.
She has told stories full-time as a CBC News digital producer and an award-winning independent journalist. Her writings on food, politics, art, business, and the environment have appeared in Edmonton Journal, Calgary Herald, National Post, Ottawa Citizen, Vancouver Sun, and numerous national magazines, and in a regular food column for CBC Radio. She was Western Living magazine's City Editor and published her debut cookbook, Edmonton Cooks, in 2016—an Amazon.com and national best-seller—to share stories and recipes, celebrating the city’s vibrant food culture. She judges food competitions in Edmonton, truly one of the most delectable gigs in the city, and is passionate about the power of food to connect and build community.
