Immad Akhund is a seasoned entrepreneur and financial technology leader, currently serving as the CEO and Founder of Mercury, a banking platform specifically designed for startups, since August 2017. Prior to Mercury, Akhund held the role of Part-time Partner at Y Combinator in 2017 and was the CEO and Co-founder of Heyzap from September 2008 until its acquisition by Fyber in January 2017, initially starting as a social network for mobile gamers before pivoting to develop tools for game developers. Earlier career experiences include serving as CTO and Co-founder of Clickpass, a company focused on simplifying OpenID, and as a Software Developer at both Bloomberg and Aquila. Akhund earned a Master of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 2006.
