Catherine P. Koshland is the Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Wood-Calvert Professor in Engineering. She is a professor in the School of Public Health and in the Energy and Resources Group. She served as Board Chair or Co-Chair on the Haverford College Board of Managers from 2007-2014. At Berkeley, she has operational oversight of several units that support student academic development, and faculty work including Berkeley’s efforts in technology enhanced instruction, and the development of on-line and blended instruction. She serves as convener for the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Initiative and currently chairs, co-chairs, or serves in a member role on several university committees aimed at improving core areas of the undergraduate academic experience. As a STEM researcher and educator, she was founding member of the International Congress on Toxic Combustion Byproducts, served as Associate Director of the UC Berkeley National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) Superfund Basic Research Program (1997-2015) and served on the Board of Directors of the Combustion Institute.
