Shigeru Ko, MD, Ph.D., received his MD degree at Nagoya University School of Medicine in 1992 and his Ph.D. degree for Internal Medicine at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine in 1999. He has been seeing patients as a physician for 25 years (specialist of Pancreatology) at several local clinics to University hospitals including Keio University Hospital. He spent 2.5 years in the Department of Physiology, UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, TX as a research fellow from 2000 to 2003. He is currently a Project Professor at the Department of Systems Medicine, Keio University School of Medicine. His current field of interest in research is regenerative medicine of the pancreas.
