Marie Hurabiell, an eighth-generation San Franciscan, has been involved with start-ups and the tech industry in the Bay Area for 20 years. Following a federal clerkship in Los Angeles, she started her law career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in San Francisco, later serving as General Counsel at Knight Ridder Digital and Red Herring Communications. Subsequently she ran her own law firm, primarily providing general counsel services to start-ups. Ms. Hurabiell is deeply involved in her community, and recently founded a non-profit focused on civic engagement.
Ms. Hurabiell has served on numerous boards, including the Presidio Trust (Chair & Vice Chair), Georgetown University Board of Regents, where she engaged in crafting the successful Design Curriculum initiative; Holy Family Day Home (President); San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary (President); National Charity League Golden Gate Chapter (VP); and Hamilton Family Center. She has led fundraising efforts for organizations such as Georgetown University, San Francisco Ballet, Wender Weis Foundation for Children, The Hamlin School, the International Museum of Women and Phillips Exeter Academy.
Hurabiell received her B.A. with Honors from Georgetown University and her J.D. with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania.
