Ana Macouzet is the current Director of Regional Migration at Emerson Collective. Ana has over a decade of experience in international relations, having served as an advisor to the Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister and G20 Sherpa from 2007 to 2012. In this role, they provided policy advice on a variety of issues, including Mexico's relations with Europe, the BRICS countries, and non-G20 countries. Ana also managed outreach efforts for the Mexican government, coordinating global projects with think tanks, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
From 2014 to 2022, Ana worked as the Acting Advocacy Director for the International Migration Initiative at the Open Society Foundations. In this role, they led a cross-programmatic effort to pursue a hemispheric migration management approach in the Americas that would provide durable and inclusive solutions to displacement.
Ana has a deep commitment to social justice and improving the lives of migrants and refugees. Ana is a leading voice in the movement to reform migration policies and create more humane and just systems.
Ana Macouzet has a Master of Science (MSc) in Global Migration from UCL and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México.
