David Simas

David Simas currently serves as Managing Director at Emerson Collective, a position held since 2023. Previously, David was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Obama Foundation from December 2016 to March 2024. David's experience also includes serving at The White House as Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Political Strategy and Outreach from 2013 to 2016, and as Deputy Assistant to the President from 2009 to 2011. In the 2011-2012 election cycle, David was Director of Opinion Research for Obama for America. David's earlier career features a role as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Deval Patrick from 2007 to 2009. Academically, David earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stonehill College.
