Kazys Stepanas

Kazys Stepanas is a highly experienced software engineer with a diverse background spanning over two decades in software architecture, development, and optimization. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Emesent since November 2023, Kazys previously held key roles including Technical Director and Expert Engineer at Wicked Workshop, and Software Architect at CSIRO's Data61 Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group, where significant contributions included the development of the Wildcat SLAM system, winner of the Hilti SLAM challenge in 2022. Kazys's expertise encompasses complex algorithm research, high-performance software development, and the implementation of CI/CD processes across multiple projects, including those for the DARPA Subterranean Challenge where a second-place finish was achieved.
