Louis Shansky

Louis Shansky currently serves as General Counsel at Empower since May 2024 and is a Charter Member of TechGC, an exclusive peer community for General Counsels. Previously, Louis held the position of Director and Associate General Counsel for Credit Cards at Robinhood from July 2023 to May 2024 and was General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at X1 from March 2020 until its acquisition by Robinhood. Louis's extensive legal experience includes serving as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Upgrade, Inc. and as Deputy General Counsel and Partner at Mayer Brown, focusing on structured finance and securitization. Louis's early career included roles at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and Mayer Brown LLP, specializing in commercial lending and structured finance. Louis holds a J.D. summa cum laude from DePaul University College of Law and a B.S. in Psychology from Western Michigan University.
