Philip Burge

Philip Burge is a highly experienced Principal Consents Advisor at Environment Canterbury, a position held since February 2008, with responsibilities including technical policy advice and managing the Consents Planning Section. Additional experience includes acting as Consents Planning Manager while maintaining principal duties, as well as previous roles such as Team Leader Consents Planning, Senior Consents Planner, and Consents Planner. Earlier career roles included student teaching at Papanui High School and Aurora College, and consulting on sedimentation studies for the Avon-Heathcote Estuary/Ihutai Trust. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geology (Palaeoecology) and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury, an M.Sc. (hons) in Ecology, and a B.Sc. in Ecology & Zoology from Victoria University of Wellington.
