Surjit Balu

Surjit Balu is an accomplished housing professional with extensive experience in leadership roles, currently serving as the Director of Housing and Property at Epping Forest District Council since May 2023. Prior to this, Surjit held the position of Director of Housing at Nottingham City Homes, where responsibilities included overseeing core housing management services for over 65,000 customers and leading a significant transformation program. Surjit's career includes serving as Executive Director of Housing and Communities at Solihull Community Housing, Head of Communities at Bromsgrove District Housing Trust, and Supported Housing Manager at Circle Housing Group, among other positions. Surjit holds a BSc in Geography from London Metropolitan University.
