Equatorial Energia SA (Equatorial) is a Brazil-based company engaged in the energy sector. The Company holds equity interest in other companies, all in the electric energy industry, mainly with operations related to generation or distribution of electric energy. The Company's activities are divided into four segments: Distribution, responsible for energy distribution in the state of Maranhao and Para, Brazil; Generation, generating electricity through thermoelectric plants; Services / Sale, offering trading electricity, billing services, as well as maintenance of electrical installations, among others; and Central Management, including corporate and administration operations. The Company operates through a number of subsidiaries, such as Companhia Energetica do Maranhao (CEMAR), Centrais Eletricas do Para SA (CELPA), Geradora de Energia do Norte SA (Getamar), Companhia Energetica do Piaui and Equatorial Solucoes SA.
