Marissa Charlemagne

Marissa Charlemagne is an experienced educator and consultant currently serving as a Teacher at The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School and a Policy Fellow at The Education Trust since January 2023. With a background as an Educational Equity Consultant for ChalkDust Consulting, LLC since September 2020, and as an Education Specialist at America Works of New York, Inc. from August 2021 to August 2022, Marissa has demonstrated a commitment to educational equity. Previous roles include Elementary School Teacher and Grade Team Leader at Ascend Central Brooklyn Charter School from August 2018 to September 2020, and teaching abroad with I Know I Can Summer Academies, where project-based learning was tailored for Palestinian youth. Marissa's professional journey began with an Operations Internship at the Roosevelt Institute Summer Academy from June 2014 to August 2018. Marissa holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership Politics and Advocacy from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, completed in May 2022, and has academic experience from Goucher College.
